1. Mokpo and the Purple Islands: South Korea's Hidden Treasures Our South Korean journey continued as we sought more places to see on weekends. Gisela and I heard about the Instagrammable Purple Islands after Gisela's mom told her about them during a FaceTime conversation. Gisela looked up those islands; they were two small islands where everything was purple. By "everything," I mean purple buildings, plants, roads, clothes, and even food! The islands became purple-themed to further promote tourism. Gisela and I really wanted to see those islands. The problem was it took a lot of work to find online how to do so.
