 1. Two Days at the Beach in Two Italian Cities: Santa Marinella and Santa Severa Part 1- Santa Marinella This is the concluding article from when Gisela studied abroad in Rome for a month in the summer of 2021. She did the study abroad program through the CIEE and took two classes at the CIEE Institute. One class was about the mafia, and the other was an Italian language class. Since Gisela had classes only three days a week, we had much free time to explore Rome, other Italian cities, and neighboring countries (we visited San Marino and Vatican City). The other trips we did independently. Gisela and I went with our friends and on our own to Santa Marinella, Florence, Naples, Santa Severa, and San Marino. This article is in two parts, and I will talk about our day trips to Santa Marinella and Santa Severa, two beach t...

Overall, she had great practice speaking to the locals in Italian. The mafia class was in English. Anyway, she only had classes three days a week. That meant we had much time to explore Rome, other Italian cities, and neighboring countries (San Marino and Vatican City). Some activities and excursions were organized by the CIEE, while others we did...
